About Project

This Project for Stealth Startup, is an Investment platform that aims to stand out with it's ease in investment wit a level of transparency that no current Investment Platforms are providing. Paired with it's unique and user friendly design and use of emerging technology, the platform is supposed to be a win win for both Startups and Investors.

My Input

As sole designer of the Application I had responsibility of managing expectations of stakeholders of the project and designing the entire project from end to end. After the completion of design Phase I was also responsible for a proper developer handoff and due to small size of the team I too also had to act as Project Manager overseeing the progress, bugs and delivery of the project.

Task

  1. Design a Dashboard in accordance with client's expectations.
    (image provided by the client)

  2. Make the design user friendly.

  3. Design and add Functionality of Widgets on Dashboard.

  4. Design Screens and Flows for other screens ideas centered around Dashboard.

Problems to be solved

Design a Dashboard in accordance with client's expectations.

The Screen was designed on Photoshop and although it was narrating desires of client perfectly, it failed in giving the application a functionality.

Font used was "Proto" which didn't had any variations in weights and no "Small and Capital lettering". So only was in which I was supposed to make any information architecture was though changing sizes and color.

On top of it, the sizes were limited to 5.
And given in guidelines the metrics of sizes were different from what was going to be used in design.

Color Pallet given was too dull to provide proper user experience.

Make the design user friendly.

Brand Guidelines were too different from any regular application that I had to think out of the box while designing any element, let alone it be a KPI or a widget to present any graph.

During the design phase design of entire dashboard went through multiple approval meeting, where client feedback almost never aligned with my designs which were made with with focus on usability rather than design given by client.

Design and add Functionality of Widgets on Dashboard.

Idea of what application has to be was very unclear even at client's end, and their expectations with project given to my then employer (Zenia Mobile) was that we bring the ideas of how and what to create.
Due to our limited knowledge of Investment Platforms we went through a long phase of hit and trail, with always me being answerable to the client. Balancing design expectation of client, proper flow and functionality of the product and tough brand guidelines.

Design other Screens and flows with ideas centered around Dashboard.

All the features for the Application had to be thought based on what design client gave for the Dashboard.

Normally idea for application is thought followed by creation Functionality and entire application, only then Dadhboard for the Application is created.

But due to client's expectations with "How Dashboard should look" the entire application had to bevreverse engineered. Please keep in mind the idea for application was also not concrete.

So the my work was to reverse engineer an application whose functionality is yet not thought of, from a screen client created on Photoshop.

My Learnings

  1. Adapting to Client’s Evolving Expectations
I learned to stay flexible and open-minded as product priorities shifted, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders.

  2. Designing for Complex Usability Challenges
Worked on a system where achieving usability wasn’t straightforward—this taught me to think creatively within constraints.

  3. Balancing Constraints with Creativity
Time, scope, and business goals often clashed—but I learned to navigate trade-offs without compromising user value.

  4. Iterative Collaboration with Stakeholders
Underwent numerous feedback loops to match stakeholder demands while keeping the UX vision intact.

  5. User-Centered Thinking Amid Pressure
Even under tight timelines, I prioritized end-user needs over internal ease or shortcuts.

  6. Understanding Investment
Workflows Gained deep exposure to how investment platforms function—translating complex financial data into digestible user flows.

  7. Scalable Design System Thinking
Built an MVP design system that allowed faster dev handoff and made scaling easier for future product growth
